Members of Galactic went into the studio in November of 1999 to collaborate with Algerian singer Rachid Taha for his album entitled Made In Medina released on Barclay Records. Taha currently resides in Paris but visited American Sector Recording Studios in New Orleans to record 3 of the songs (tracks 1, 2, 4 and 9) with Moore, Mercurio, Raines and Vogel of Galactic. The outcome of the recording session is a mixture of traditional North African music along with elements of electronic dance and New Orleans funk grooves! Producing the project is Steve Hillage who was the guitarist in the 70's progressive rock band Gong and has more recently worked with electronic bands like the Orb.
